The Sycamore Landing House

7 Old Mill Road, Pebble Hollow

7 Old Mill Road has been in the same family for two generations, and it shows in the way the home settles into the land. Four sleeping chambers branch off a central great-burrow, with the kitchen positioned at the river-facing end so whoever’s cooking has the best view in the house. The lot runs forty paces down to the water, with a small private dock and steps cut into the bank.

The family wallow is unusually large — comfortable for four to six adults — and there’s a separate shallow pool toward the back of the property, useful for younger swimmers. A working chimney serves the central chamber, and the reed roof was rethatched two seasons ago. Neighbors on both sides are long-settled and friendly. This is a home meant to be lived in for a long time, not flipped.
